- How do updates work?
- NoMail updates itself in-app: it checks for new releases on launch and every six hours, downloads in the background, and installs when you quit. What changed is always on the changelog.
- Which email providers are supported?
- Gmail (personal and Google Workspace), Microsoft (Outlook.com and Hotmail), Fastmail and other JMAP servers, and iCloud or any generic IMAP server.
- Why is there no on-device AI on Intel Macs?
- The bundled local model ships as an Apple Silicon binary only. On Intel, everything else works — and you can still opt into an external AI provider with your own API key, or run without AI entirely.
- Where is my data stored?
- On your Mac, and nowhere else: mail lives in a local SQLite database, and NoMail has no backend your mail passes through. The privacy policy has the full picture.
- Google shows an “unverified app” warning when I sign in — is that expected?
- Yes, for now. NoMail talks directly to Gmail with credentials you grant it; while Google’s verification of the app is still in progress, the consent screen shows that warning. Your mail still goes only between your Mac and Google.
